Roof repairs that fix the cause, not the symptom
Slipped slates, leaks traced to the real fault, storm damage put right. We drone-survey the roof before we quote, so you pay to fix the actual problem once.
Book a repair surveyMost roof repairs fail because nobody found the real fault. A leak shows up in the bedroom; the actual gap is three metres away. We drone-survey the roof first, find where water is actually getting in, and fix that. Slipped slates re-bedded, lead flashings re-dressed, storm damage made watertight. Before-and-after photos on every job, and a workmanship guarantee on the work.
A failed repair is a repair done to the wrong spot
Here is what happens nearly every time someone calls us about a leak they have already paid to fix.
Another roofer climbed up, saw a stain on the ceiling, and put mastic on the slate directly above it. Three weeks later the water is back. Because the stain on your ceiling is almost never under the hole. Water gets in at one point, runs along a batten or a rafter, and drips somewhere else entirely. Fix the spot under the drip and you have fixed nothing.
We are a third-generation Cheshire roofing family. We have seen this for fifty years. So we do the opposite. We find where the water actually gets in first, then we fix that.
We drone-survey the roof before we quote
Before anyone gives you a price, we fly a drone over the whole roof and look at every slate, every ridge tile, every lead flashing and every valley from above.
No scaffold to hire. No clambering about guessing. We see the cracked slate, the slipped tile, the flashing that has lifted away from the chimney, the perished mortar in the ridge. We find the actual entry point, not the spot under your ceiling stain.
Then we quote to fix that one thing. You see the same photos we do. You are not paying for a guess.
What we repair
- Slipped and cracked slates. Re-bedded or replaced and properly secured, not smeared over with mastic that fails in a season.
- Leaks traced to the real fault. We find where water enters, not where it drips. Then we fix the entry point.
- Lead flashings. Cracked, lifted or badly dressed lead around chimneys, abutments and valleys, re-dressed and made watertight by hand.
- Storm damage. Lifted tiles, stripped ridges, debris strikes. Photographed before we touch it, made watertight, documented for your insurer.
- Ridge and verge. Loose ridge tiles and crumbling mortar re-bedded, or upgraded to a mechanical dry-ridge system that does not wash out.
Sahar’s roof in Winsford
Sahar in Winsford had a leak that two previous roofers had been out to and “fixed.” It kept coming back.
We droned the roof and found the real fault, which was not where anyone had been working. We fixed the actual entry point, photographed before and after, and it stayed dry. Here is what she wrote on Google afterwards:
“After two other roofers failed to stop the leak, Middlewich Roofing actually found the cause and fixed it. Honest from start to finish and the photos showed me exactly what was done. I would not call anyone else.” — Sahar, Winsford
That is the whole job in one review: find the cause, fix it once, show you the proof. We carry a five-star rating across 99 Google reviews.

Honest pricing, and why we are not the cheapest
If it is a two-slate repair, we will tell you it is a two-slate repair. We do not invent work.
But we are not the cheapest roofer you will ring, and we are not trying to be. The cheapest quote is usually someone planning to patch the symptom and move on before it fails again. The homeowners who call us are not looking for the cheapest. They are looking for the last person who has to go up there.
You get a fixed price for the actual fault, the work done by our own in-house, fully insured team, before-and-after photos, and a workmanship guarantee on the repair. No subcontractors you have never met. No surprises halfway through.
Mid-leak right now?
If water is coming in as you read this, do not wait for a survey. We answer the phone 24/7 and do same-day emergency repairs across Cheshire and South Manchester. See storm damage and emergency repairs.

Common questions
My leak only shows up in heavy rain. Can you still find it?
Yes. A leak that only appears in driving rain is usually wind-driven water getting under a flashing or a cracked slate that sits flat in still weather. We drone-survey the roof to find the entry point rather than guessing from the stain inside, which is almost never directly below the fault.
Why do I need a drone survey for a small repair?
Because the stain on your ceiling is rarely under the hole. Water runs along battens and rafters before it drips. The drone lets us see every slate, ridge and flashing from above without a scaffold, find the actual entry point, and quote to fix that one thing. It is how we avoid charging you to patch the wrong spot.
Can you just patch it to save money?
We can make a roof watertight today if you are mid-leak. But a smear of mastic over a cracked slate fails in a season, and you pay twice. We are not the cheapest, and the homeowners who call us are not looking for the cheapest. We fix the cause so you are not back in the same spot next winter.
A storm lifted some tiles. Is that an insurance job?
Often, yes. We photograph the damage before we touch it, make the roof watertight, and give you a dated before-and-after set you can hand straight to your insurer. If it is two slipped tiles we will tell you it is a small repair, not a claim.
How fast can you come out?
We answer the phone 24/7 and do same-day emergency repairs across Cheshire and South Manchester when water is actively coming in. A planned, non-urgent repair is usually surveyed within a few days.
Do you guarantee the repair?
Yes. Every repair carries a workmanship guarantee, and you get the before-and-after photos so you can see exactly what was done up there.
