A failed repair is a repair done to the wrong spot

Here is what happens nearly every time someone calls us about a leak they have already paid to fix.

Another roofer climbed up, saw a stain on the ceiling, and put mastic on the slate directly above it. Three weeks later the water is back. Because the stain on your ceiling is almost never under the hole. Water gets in at one point, runs along a batten or a rafter, and drips somewhere else entirely. Fix the spot under the drip and you have fixed nothing.

We are a third-generation Cheshire roofing family. We have seen this for fifty years. So we do the opposite. We find where the water actually gets in first, then we fix that.

We drone-survey the roof before we quote

Before anyone gives you a price, we fly a drone over the whole roof and look at every slate, every ridge tile, every lead flashing and every valley from above.

No scaffold to hire. No clambering about guessing. We see the cracked slate, the slipped tile, the flashing that has lifted away from the chimney, the perished mortar in the ridge. We find the actual entry point, not the spot under your ceiling stain.

Then we quote to fix that one thing. You see the same photos we do. You are not paying for a guess.

What we repair

• Slipped and cracked slates. Re-bedded or replaced and properly secured, not smeared over with mastic that fails in a season.
• Leaks traced to the real fault. We find where water enters, not where it drips. Then we fix the entry point.
• Lead flashings. Cracked, lifted or badly dressed lead around chimneys, abutments and valleys, re-dressed and made watertight by hand.
• Storm damage. Lifted tiles, stripped ridges, debris strikes. Photographed before we touch it, made watertight, documented for your insurer.
• Ridge and verge. Loose ridge tiles and crumbling mortar re-bedded, or upgraded to a mechanical dry-ridge system that does not wash out.
