Storm damage, documented and put right

We make the roof safe, photograph everything from the drone, and give you a repair your insurer can read. Cheshire & South Manchester.

Book a storm survey — 01606 537305

After a storm you've got two jobs: stop the damage getting worse, and prove what happened so the claim goes through. We do both. Make-safe the same day if it's urgent, a drone survey that hands your insurer dated photos of every slipped tile and stripped ridge, then a repair done once, properly.

Storm hits. Two things have to happen.

First, the damage has to stop getting worse. A slipped ridge lets the next gust under the tiles below it. An open valley lets the next downpour into the loft. Second, you have to prove what the storm did — because if the photos are vague, the claim drags.

We handle both. Make-safe when it’s urgent, a drone survey that documents every fault, then a repair done once.

We cover Cheshire and South Manchester — Knutsford, Northwich, Middlewich, Holmes Chapel, Winsford and across to Altrincham and Bowdon.

If it’s leaking right now, don’t read on — call

This page is for the morning after, when the roof is holding but you can see something’s wrong: a tile in the garden, a ridge line that’s gone crooked, a strip of felt flapping.

If water is coming in right now, that’s an emergency. We run a 24/7 line and same-day make-safe. Ring 01606 537305 or go to our emergency roof repair page. We’ll sheet it, stop the water, and photograph the damage so the claim is already half-built by the time you’re dry.

Make-safe first. Always.

A storm repair done in two stages beats a rushed one done in the rain.

Stage one is make-safe: secure the loose tiles, sheet the open sections, get the roof watertight enough to stop the damage spreading. We do this fast, and we photograph it — because “what did it look like before you touched it” is the first thing a loss adjuster asks.

Stage two is the proper repair, done dry, in daylight, with the right tiles and lead. No bodging a permanent fix while the wind’s still up.

The drone survey is what gets your claim paid

Most stalled insurance claims stall on evidence. The homeowner sends a blurry photo taken from the ground; the insurer can’t see the damage; the claim sits.

We survey storm damage with a drone. That means:

  • Dated, close-up shots of every slipped tile, stripped ridge, lifted flashing and damaged valley
  • The make-safe work photographed before and after
  • The finished repair photographed, so you’ve got a clean record the work was done

You get the photos. Your insurer gets photos they can actually read. The claim moves.

What we put right after a storm

  • Slipped, cracked and missing tiles and slates — matched to what’s already up there, not the nearest thing in the van
  • Stripped or lifted ridges — re-bedded properly, or moved to a dry ridge system that won’t lift again
  • Storm-lifted flashing and lead around chimneys — re-dressed properly by our lead-work team, not patched with sealant
  • Blown-off felt and damaged valleys — replaced, not taped over
  • Loose or torn-off fascias, soffits and guttering — refitted so the next storm doesn’t take them off again

Every job gets before/after photos. That’s not a sales line — it’s how we work, on all of it.

Why people call us and not the cheapest quote

We’re a third-generation Cheshire roofing family. In-house team, fully insured, no subbing the work out to whoever’s free.

We’re deliberately not the cheapest. After a storm there’s always someone knocking doors offering a quick cash fix — and a quick cash fix is exactly what fails the next time the wind gets up. We do it once, with the right materials, documented so your insurer pays and so you’ve got a record if the same wall ever floods again.

We’re the most-reviewed roofer in Middlewich, and every one of those reviews is five stars.

What to do right now

  1. Leaking? Call 01606 537305 — 24/7 line, same-day make-safe. Or see the emergency page.
  2. Not leaking, but damaged? Photograph it from the ground, ring your insurer to open the claim, then call us to book a drone survey.
  3. Not sure how bad it is? Call us. We’ll tell you straight whether it needs make-safe today or can wait for a booked survey.

Either way, the number is 01606 537305 and the email is middlewichroofing@gmail.com. We’ll make it safe, document it for your insurer, and repair it properly — across Cheshire and South Manchester.

Common questions

Do you provide photos my insurer will accept?

Yes. Every storm job gets a drone survey — dated, close-up shots of the actual damage, the make-safe work, and the finished repair. Loss adjusters want to see what failed and where. We hand them that, so the claim doesn't stall on 'can you send a photo of the affected area'.

Should I call you or my insurer first?

If water is coming in right now, call us first on 01606 537305 — we make it safe, then you claim. If it's a slipped tile or a stripped ridge that isn't leaking, photograph it, ring your insurer to open the claim, and book our survey. We work to whatever process your insurer needs.

What if it's an emergency and the roof is open?

Then this isn't the page for you yet — we run a 24/7 line and same-day make-safe. See our emergency roof repair page or just ring 01606 537305 now. We sheet it, stop the water, and document the damage. The proper repair comes after.

Will you deal with the loss adjuster directly?

We'll talk the adjuster through what we found and what it takes to fix it, and supply the survey photos and a written scope. We don't inflate a scope to chase an insurer's budget — we quote the repair the roof actually needs.

How fast can you get out after a storm?

Make-safe is same-day across Cheshire and South Manchester when it's urgent. A booked survey for non-urgent damage is usually within a few days. After a big storm the diary fills fast, so the sooner you call the sooner you're on it.

Are you the cheapest storm repair?

No. We're not the cheapest, and the homeowners who call us aren't looking for the cheapest. They want it documented properly, made safe once, and repaired so it doesn't come back the next time the wind gets up. That's what we do.
